Caribbean Jerk Fried Oyster Mushrooms

Recipe (submitted by one of our fantastic customers):

 

Wet batter (mix well) 

1/2C flour

1/4c water(or to your preferred thickness)

2TBSP of Jerk sauce  

1tsp poultry seasoning, garlic and onion powder and smoked paprika 


Dry batter (mix well) 

1/2c flour 

1tsp poultry seasoning, garlic and onion powder and smoked paprika 


1C of avocado oil in cast iron or frying pan 

Turn on medium high to heat up 


Take oyster mushrooms apart in clusters for frying. Dip in wet batter then In dry batter. Place in hot oil and fry on both sides until desired color/crunchiness. (4-5mins per cluster) 


Once all fried place fried mushrooms in a bowl with 1/4c jerk sauce and mix well the coat all fried mushrooms. 


Some of my favorite ways to serve: Serve on buns for Caribbean jerk mushroom sandwich or wrap, on top of a kale salad or on the side with Mac and cheese,

Collards and black eyed peas! Enjoy!
